About MORSE CODE

MORSE CODE is a new web series created by Korby Lenker, about a smart-but-dumb folk musician dreamchasing his way through the modern music business. Starring Lenker, Sara Antonio (House of Cards, Other Versions of You), Oliva Evans (Nashville), newcomer Maggie Schneider and featuringKenneth Pattengale (Milk Carton Kids) as himself, each six to eight minute episode charts Simon Pinkerton’s laughable odyssey of poor judgement and imagined realizations through a wacky landscape of egomaniacal rivals and neurotic managers. In the spirit of HBO’s TogethernessMORSE CODE is a heartfelt comedy about a forgivable idiot trying to make good in music without alienating everybody around him.

MORSE CODE premiers August 3rd at 10am CST on Vimeo. There will be an advance screening Wednesday August 1st at the original Basement in Nashville, at 9pm. This special engagement will feature back-to-back performances by Korby Lenker and Americana artist Nora Jane Struthers, followed by an exclusive screening of the show. The event is free to the public to persons 21 and over.

A show about a musician wouldn’t be complete without new music, so August 3rd will see the release not only of Lenker’s new scripted series, but also a brand new single, If You Love Somebodyout on Soundly Music (SONY/RED). Penned and performed with Sugarhill recording artist Liz LongleyIf You Love Somebody is a song about finding words to match the feelings — something easier sung than done.

MORSE CODE has thus far been made possible by a crowd-funding campaign through Patreon, a subscription-based platform created for the purpose of connecting artists to the fans who wish to support their work. In exchange for a monthly pledge of $1 - 100, each subscriber receives early access to MORSE CODE episodes as well as Lenker’s exclusive music and literary content otherwise unavailable to the public.

Production is already underway for episode 2, which will premiere this September at Americanfest, with a panel featuring Lenker, Kenneth Pattengale, Tim Lauer (senior music producer at CMT’s Nashville), director Nathan Edwards, as well as the cast of the show.
