More About The Basement:

The Basement has alway been supportive of the local music scene in Nashville. Established in 2005 by Mike Grimes and Geoff Donovan with a vision of providing a platform for local artists, the venue quickly gained momentum. Grimes curated shows six nights a week, including the now iconic “New Faces Night,” which has become a local favorite. Six months after opening Dave Brown joined the team, expanding the business to two shows nightly and adding Sunday performances. Their collaborative vision has elevated The Basement to a coveted venue for both local acts and established artists. Notable names like Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brothers Osborne, Sturgill Simpson, and The Lumineers all have taken the OG Basement stage. Not to mention the occasional secret pop up shows we’ve had! Artists such as Metallica, Hardy, Keith Urban, Deer Tick, and Emmylou Harris have all done underplays at The Basement. We take pride in our commitment to fostering a welcoming environment where local and established artists alike feel heard and respected.
